Slide Adjustment BuckleInnovation with a purpose. Why did we develop this buckle, you ask? Well, we wanted something better, something specifically designed for a rifle sling application. The current options on the market like the plentiful ladder loc buckle or metal quick release buckle which we formally used, have significant drawbacks. Their material construction and characteristics are unmatched, but their designs limit them. The ladder loc buckle must be used in conjunction with a pull tab. Not a big compromise but some of us prefer a tab-less, more streamlined design. Using a ladder loc buckle without a pull tab makes adjusting your rifle sling much more difficult. Furthermore, ladder loc buckles typically require a bit more force to adjust but again, not a big compromise. The metal quick release buckle is tough, durable, and highly effective when it comes to adjusting your sling. The fatal flaw, its metal construction. As we all know, metal on metal contact (rifle receiver) can make a very sharp sound, especially those who are operating within a surveillance or reconnaissance unit. Furthermore, metal is susceptible to rusting. Also, metal components tend to mar your receiver which can lead to a breakdown of the finish or slight rusting in the affected area. Our proprietary slide adjustment buckle was designed to fill a gap we believed existed in the sling market. Its ergonomic design allows it to be used with or without a pull tab. Its lightweight construction, exceptional abrasion, chemical, and wear resistant properties make it an excellent choice to be used in a sling application. It is constructed of a 3D printed material specifically designed for high stress; high friction environments typically seen in sling applications while its non-metallic construction does not create a loud sharp sound when accidentally banging into the rifle receiver. With the latest technology, we designed and built the first 3D printed rifle sling adjustment buckle that will stand up to the rigors of hunting, training, or combat. |
ParabuckleInnovation with a purpose. The Parabuckle was created as an alternative to other nylon and metal sling interface options. We wanted something that was versatile, durable, streamlined, and something that looked awesome. We originally thought of the idea after speaking with a customer about paracord sling interface options. We made something like what many people saw on Obi One Nairobi’s rifle, paracord looped through a triangle buckle that used heat shrink to tie the ends together. It’s a useful design but it is limited. It cannot be adjusted and if it wears out overtime or the paracord breaks the entire piece needs to be replaced. So, we hit the drawing board and about five iterations later we came up with what you see today, the Parabuckle. We adjusted widths, lengths, thickness, profiles, and angles of specific portions of the design to make it strong and streamlined. It was imperative that the Parabuckle had a small footprint to be as snag free as possible while also having great tensile strength and elongation at break characteristics. Its nylon structure is prone to rusting, has great chemical and abrasion resistance, and it’s extremely durable in a multitude of extreme climates. |
